KHÁNH NGÔ
cinematographer | colorist
developed in Finland, now operating in Vietnam.
from Helsinki, Finland to Saigon, Vietnam.
My path into filmmaking was first discovered when I was in Finland back in 2020, followed by my training at the Academy of Moving People & Images under some of Finnish finest directors, producers, DPs, and fellow-filmmakers alike. After the education and a few years working in the Finnish EU-standardized film industry (featuring several short films, a TV series, and a feature film), I returned to Vietnam in late 2024. Since then, I’ve been actively participating in all kinds of projects in the role of a Cinematographer.
My creative philosophy revolves around creating the right imagery instead of just simply beautiful imagery. I strive for pictures that support and enhance the project without calling out their own identities, and that the audience should appreciate and resonate with the final product as a whole, not because of or for the cinematography specifically.
Human-wise, I’m quite calm and approachable, and a firm believer in “The end product is only ever as good as the people behind it". Clarity, professionalism, and decency are my ways of doing things.
When not working as a DP, I’m a guitarist, a pianist, and a part-time YouTuber where I share my personal filmmaking insights for my fellow Vietnamese audience.
Proud owner of the ARRI AMIRA, the OG BMPCC, the Canon 310XL, & the Canon IXUS 60.
Here’s to mesmerising images!
