Behind-the-scenes
This short was shot on the ARRI AMIRA & the NiSi Athena’s. There was no gimbal shots, the camera was either on stick or handheld - which was made insanely easier due to the superb ergonomics of the AMIRA (even when compared to Mini’s and MiniLF’s) despite being quite a chunky mass of a camera).
For exteriors, we relied heavily on natural light and used silks, solids, and bounces to create shape. Our lighting kit consists of 2x 1200D’s, 2x 600X’s, a couple of Amaran F22c’s, some Amaran tubes, and a kit of 20x20, 12x12, and 8x8 solids, silks, and bounces. Where need be, we’d add in extra punches with our film lights. For interiors, we used our limited light banks to our fullest, which still turned out to be adequate for the EI1280 that I was rating the AMIRA at for the grain and even more organic highlight roll-off. Very minimal for a production of this scope!
