For this music video, we shot on the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K coupled with the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 via a 0.71x speedbooster. Most of the shots were on sticks, and some of them were shot handheld. Lighting-wise, we had a very simple package with just a few flags and diffusion frames, an ARRI T1, and a Godox TL60. Exterior shots rely completely on natural light, and we just chose the right time/direction to make sure we get the best shapes possible.
This was one of my first shoots with the BMPCC4K, and honestly, I was blown away at how well it performed. Aside from the odd ergonomic and plasticky build, it produced pictures of great details and amazing colors, impressive dynamic range, and BRAW was just so efficient and lightweight. The post-production workflow with BRAW was seamless as well since I was using Resolve already at the time. Highlight recovery was something I found incredibly helpful - it helped me gain back some of the highlight details that I blew in a very high contrast shot in the middle of the sunny day. This was the first moment I realized how far equipment had come, especially in the entry-level budget tier.
